We're building safety-enhancing technology for aviation that will save lives. Automated aviation systems will enable a future where air transportation is safer, more convenient and fundamentally transformative to the way goods — and eventually people — move around the planet. We are a team of mission-driven engineers with experience across aerospace, robotics and self-driving cars working to make this future a reality.
As an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer, you will be a part of our Avionics Hardware Engineering team. Your work will have a key impact on the development of Reliable Robotic’s full-stack automation solution. You will work closely with Mechanical, Embedded Software, and FPGA engineers. This position will be located at our facility in Mountain View, California and is not eligible for remote support.
Responsibilities
In your role as an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and analysis of the analog and digital circuits on the airplane. You will be responsible for gathering input from stakeholders and making design decisions. You will be involved in the design, manufacturing, and test of PCBAs that support critical functions on our aircraft. Over time, you will take on more responsibility to create new designs or modify existing designs. As your familiarity and understanding of our designs increases, you will begin to chart out entire projects, including planning, testing, and design interactions.
Basic Success Criteria

- Demonstrated ability to complete and ship projects and deliverables
- Professional experience with ECAD tools, such as Altium
- Ability to work within a team, including strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot, find root cause, and resolve issues
Preferred Criteria
- Professional experience with full life-cycle projects, from conceptual design to manufacturing handover
- Experience designing for demanding environments including running tests to ensure design meets requirements across the full range of environments
- Experience with mixed signal designs and power electronics
- Experience implementing high-speed digital interfaces (e.g. PCIe, SGMII, DDR)
- Direct hands-on experience with analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design, analysis, test, and debug
