SUMMARY

One of Apple’s R&D groups is currently seeking a senior electrical engineer. This engineer will be responsible for system level electrical architecture and design of sensing systems from early concept prototyping to system architecture and physical implementation. Description

In this role you will partner with cross-functional teams such as mechanical, controls, AIML, and embedded FW engineers to realize sensor system designs. Responsibilities include:

  1. Drive system level sensor specification definition
  2. Electrical system architecture and tradeoff analysis
  3. Electrical design, including flexes and PCBAs
  4. Prototype, evaluate, develop, and harden designs
  5. Close collaboration with cross-functional teams

Minimum Qualifications

  1. BS or MS in electrical engineering or similar field
  2. 5+ years of hands-on electrical and sensor system design experience, including touch, magnetic, and optical based sensing
  3. Experience selecting and integrating electronics and sensors in novel architectures
  4. Strong electrical engineering analytical skills
  5. Experience developing system architecture, sensor systems analysis, and modeling
  6. Strong fundamentals in sensors and the impact of impairments on sensor performance
  7. Exceptional HW/SW problem solving skills
  8. Detail oriented and capable of handling multiple assignments at once

Key Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  1. PhD in electrical engineering or similar field
  2. Experience leading teams through product development cycle from concept development to production bring up
  3. Large scale data analysis and knowledge of statistical techniques
  4. Strong communication, documentation and presentation skills
