Position Overview:

Boeing Defense, Space, and Security is seeking a Senior Hardware Subsystems Engineer (level 5) to work in the El Segundo, CA location. Boeing's Space, Intelligence, and Weapons Systems oversees the company's major commercial and government satellite and ground programs for communications, national defense, and other missions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
  • Oversees the design and build of multiple satellite and avionics units.
  • Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs, and interface specifications.
  • Leads work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
  • Oversees the team that monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
  • Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
  • Researches technology advances for potential application to company business needs.
  • Makes recommendations for technology investments.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the El Segundo, CA, location.

This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance post start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in RF/Digital electronics (design and test) engineering.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Electrical Engineering degree is preferred.
  • Experience with digital circuit design.
  • Knowledge of FPGAs/ASICs.
  • Active security clearance.
  • Experience working in the Aerospace industry.
  • Experience leading and/or interested in mentoring others.

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $153,850 - $208,150.
