As we grow nationwide, we have a great opportunity for a Field Service (Printer) Technician supporting clients in the greater Milwaukee, WI area.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Print Production Technician to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of printing equipment to produce high-quality printed materials. This role requires a strong understanding of print production processes, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Printing Equipment: Set up, operate, and monitor printing machines, including digital, offset, and large-format printers, to produce printed materials according to specifications.
- Quality Control: Inspect printed materials for accuracy, color consistency, and quality, making adjustments as necessary to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Material Handling: Load and unload printing materials, including paper, ink, and other supplies, ensuring proper inventory levels are maintained.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on printing equipment, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
- File Preparation: Prepare digital files for printing, including color correction, resizing, and layout adjustments, ensuring they meet production standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with designers, prepress teams, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely production of printed materials.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of production runs, including quantities, materials used, and any issues encountered.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in print production, preferably in a similar role
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating various types of printing equipment (digital, large-format). Familiarity with prepress processes and software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control and problem-solving.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work in a production environment.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training in print production is a plus.
- Valid driver's license
- Experience working on Canon, Konica Minolta, HP and/or Xerox office product
- CompTIA A+ or Network + certifications a plus but not required
