Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Mechanical Hardware

Anduril’s Supply Chain team is seeking a Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer to join us. This is a high visibility, cross-functional role that plays an integral part in enabling development and production flow of Anduril’s critical supply base. They will work in close coordination with internal engineering and manufacturing departments and suppliers to execute effective, creative and smart supply chain strategies to achieve production goals.

The Supplier Industrialization Engineer will expedite the qualification and implementation of product designs with our suppliers, optimizing these designs for quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness from early development through the entire product lifecycle.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Own and manage mechanical hardware manufacturing outsourced to suppliers in support of Anduril’s business lines
  • Own continuity of supply for mechanical hardware/assemblies across Anduril’s business lines, ensuring internal production has infeed assemblies needed to build to program level volume targets
  • Collaborate with Category Managers and Sourcing Engineers to evaluate current and prospective suppliers for their manufacturability, capacity and quality capabilities against the specific program requirements
  • Provide leadership for mechanical hardware New Production Introduction (NPI) at suppliers
  • Collaborate with design, materials, and manufacturing engineers to gain an in-depth knowledge of piece part, assembly, metrology, and/or sub-system design intent
  • Own bringing up new production tooling and lines at Supplier sites to ensure supplier materials, processes & tools are capable of meeting product performance requirements, including setting up FAI criteria
  • Lead resolution of supplier quality issues through root cause analysis, while functioning as liaison between purchasing, engineering, production, and suppliers
  • Sustain low-medium-high volume production
  • Oversee the production ramp-up of new products at supplier sites, ensuring a smooth transition from prototype to full-scale production through bring up of additional, copy-exact tooling, factory layout and resourcing of production by the supplier
  • Establish and drive process performance and controls (SPC) reviews, conduct supplier assessments and audits to ensure compliance with company and industry standards
  • Create and define supplier technical and quality requirements based on customer and program requirements and expectations for NPI and production phases
  • Conduct independent research to identify potential new suppliers and capabilities in manufacturing and metrology
  • Identify and drive product & process improvements to lower part cost, reduce supply risk, eliminate potential defects, and improve cycle time
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership, proactivity, technical excellence, creativity, self-direction, and courage

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field. Experience with CAD, GD&T
  • 5+ years of experience in supplier quality and industrialization within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, standards, and certifications
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel to supplier locations as needed
  • Ideal candidate can obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance

US Salary Range: $128,000 - $192,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
