As a Mechanical Design Engineer at MFC, you will join one of the largest networks of engineering professionals, implementing cutting edge technologies on both existing and new development platforms. You will be helping us solve the world’s most difficult challenges supporting such wide-ranging domain areas such as aircraft flight command and control, air traffic control, health care, and homeland defense. What You Will Be Doing Lockheed Martin Missiles and fire control is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer Staff to support the GMLRS production team. The individual selected will work closely with the Quality organization, Camden operations, and multiple suppliers to assist in resolving product/production issues. The candidate will be responsible for quick response to ensure teams are effectively dispositioning and addressing internally or externally generated product Change Requests (CRs). Acts as a program authority regarding Design for cost, manufacturing, and assembly. Must be able to manage multiple program-critical responsibilities and respond quickly to keep product flowing into and out of the GMLRS Camden Production facility. This candidate will also be responsible for producing Proposal inputs for the Mechanical Engineering Department to support future production phases. The primary work location will be in Grand Prairie, with frequent travel to MFC production facilities in Camden, AR and multiple suppliers' locations across the US is required (20%). Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university. • The ability to obtain a Secret Clearance • Proficiency in 3D modeling and design software for part and assembly design, and associated configuration management tool for managing engineering data and documentation. • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles. • Experience in creating detailed engineering drawings in compliance with ASME Y14.100 standards. • Solid knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5. • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). • Detail-oriented with a focus on process and quality. Desired Skills: • Proficiency in PTC Creo for part and assembly design, and Windchill for managing engineering data and documentation. • Previous experience in a Material Review Board (MRB) role, with background, training, and qualifications to quickly obtain it. • Experience in formal Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations. • Experience in mechanical design (preferably production phase) in aerospace or a similar industry. • Prior experience with Lockheed Martin programs or similar defense contractors is a plus. • Experience in working with, and providing technical oversight, to subcontracted suppliers Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
