This position is located at Kwajalein Atoll, Republic of the Marshall Islands.
Essential Functions
- Provide leadership for fellow engineers and technicians in the group.
- Provide operations & maintenance support for C-band and Ka-band radar hardware systems.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and repair various pieces of commercial and custom hardware.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance procedures and runs system diagnostic software.
- Lead and provide support for design and implementation of improvement and modernization (I&M) projects.
- Install new equipment.
- Provide technical input about system configuration and performance.
- Familiarity with RF and high-power, switchgears, analog/digital control hardware, and RFI shielding practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read schematic diagrams, wiring lists, and assembly prints.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks; self-starter.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to balance, plan, prioritize, and execute projects.
- Ability to work within a dynamic, fast paced environment with time constraints.
Required Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related technical major in STEM.
- MSEE or related engineering discipline desired
- Five (5) or more years of related experience
- Direct experience with field installation and testing, calibration, troubleshooting and acceptance testing.
- Familiarity with software such as RSLinx, RSLogix, RSView, MatLab, SPICE, and Allen-Bradley hardware (PLC-5 and I/O modules).
- Weapons test range operations and systems O&M experience
- Familiarity with FPGA’s, System Verilog, Verilog and VDHL.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
- Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Garrison - Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
