Position Summary:
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Hardware Design (HW) will be a part of the R&D organization and an important contributor to the realization of the next generation robotic platform that will change the future of healthcare. You will be a highly visible technical resource working on development of complex electro-mechanical systems. There will be direct involvement from prototype to verification builds and testing within a regulated medical device development environment. This role is suited for a senior-level R&D engineer with experience in developing complex electromechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead designing complex mechanical systems from concept to validation.
Implement Computer aided design (CAD) best practices including master sketch/modeling and model base design (MBD).
Create 2D mechanical and electrical (cable) drawings by using GD&T where it is needed.
Maintain disciplined test, configuration control, documentation, and management processes throughout
Creation of 2D/3D drawings with working knowledge of ASME drafting standards including GD&T (Y14.5-2018)
Support a variety of multi-disciplinary technical and process improvement projects of different sizes and scopes.
Help with the vendor communications and procurement issues.
Manage and communicate assigned projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:
6+ years work experience in complex electromechanical system in highly regulated R&D environment. Medical device design and development experience is highly desired.
Bachelor's and/or master's degree in mechanical engineering.
Extensive experience in designing for machined parts.
Experience in casted and molded parts is a plus.
Experience in designing for compliance with IEC 60601, design for manufacturability, and design for serviceability.
Must have hands-on experience in design, assembly and testing of electro-mechanical systems.
Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Knowledge of industry best practices for development of complex electromechanical systems
Demonstrated CAD proficiency highly in SolidWorks and PDM.
Proficiency with SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS Finite Element Analysis tools
Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management PLM software and ECOs
Develop production and support documentation including bills of material (BOMs), assembly drawings, and maintenance instructions.
Able to execute assigned projects and duties with minimum supervision.
Outstanding documentation and communication skills required.
Proficiency in using MS Office required
