We have and exciting opportunity for a Recruiter to join our growing team. The Recruiter is a member of the recruiting team specializing in the recruiting and selection of hourly and management team members for our new store openings and existing restaurants. They will be responsible for executing Kura’s recruiting strategy and initiatives, partnering with all restaurant managers and operations on talent selection, education, and training programs. The Recruiter will work in partnership with the Recruiting team, Operations partners and restaurant management teams to serve as the recruiting subject matter expert for recruiting and talent selection processes to support understaffed, tough to hire and new markets. They are an ambassador for the brand in the field, working alongside the Operators in a consultative manner to help coach, train and develop recruiting and talent selection skills that result in quality team member hires. 

This position is a hybrid position with travel for recruiting for new store openings.  Candidates residing outside of California will work remotely and travel, as necessary to fulfill the functions of the role.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner in a consultative manner with all levels of the organization is required. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Collaborates with the management team of Operations and Recruitment to support hourly and restaurant management recruiting and selection efforts in partnership with Regional Partners, Opening Team Managers and Restaurant Managers.
  • Creates, plan and execute company recruiting and talent selection strategy to help achieve company’s hiring goals with quality hires and lower turnover in a timely manner.
  • Conducts education and training on hourly recruiting and selection for restaurant management.
  • Maintains recruiting, selection, education goals and timelines in accordance with company growth and financial plans.
  • Research and stay up to date with industry recruiting, sourcing, and turnover trends.
  • Maintains positive working relationships with the Recruitment team, Operations, Training & Development, vendors and internal business stakeholders.
  • Maintains and provides weekly updates of regional interviewing and recruiting efforts, hires and needs.
  • Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants, analyzing responses, verifying references, comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Research and develop sourcing solutions, grass roots, and build talent pipeline recruiting strategies for current and future business needs.
  • Ensures legal compliance and validity of recruitment and related activities by educating managers, supervisors and staff on policies and procedures. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Arranges management interviews by coordinating schedules; when necessary, arranges travel, lodging, and meals; escorts applicant to interviews; arranges restaurant tours.
  • Creates and develops recruiting reporting metrics to report on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Communicates company needs by restaurant, region and NSO to supervisor on regular basis.
  • Attends job fairs and other miscellaneous recruiting events and conducts open houses when needed.
  • Utilizes, updates and reviews data daily in applicant tracking system (ATS).  Maintains applicant tracking system and onboarding processes.
  • Attends and represents the Recruitment team during NSO conference calls and meetings.
  • Assists with and designs any updates of recruiting materials, content, and ads.
  • Follows up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruitment plans; analyzes and recommends strategies to improve process and operations. Compiles statistics and reports as required.
  • Improves organization attractiveness by emphasizing benefits and perks to candidates.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Develops and implements best market practices for recruitment and staffing within the organization.
  • Travels to store openings to recruit and on-board new employees. Travel required 35%-45%
  • Other tasks as assigned by Management members of Operations and Recruitment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bilingual, fluent in verbal, reading and written communication skills in English and Spanish is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree (Human Resource emphasis preferred)
  • Strong background in recruiting and talent selection in restaurants or the foodservice industry strongly preferred with general HR knowledge. 
  • Experience with high volume recruitment for new store openings desirable.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office; Windows, Excel, Word, Power Point etc.) 
  • Ability to understand policies and procedures and can implement and enforce the same.
  • Experience building and developing recruiting and selection processes.
  • Possesses knowledge of and has experience with behavioral-based interviewing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be extremely organized.
  • Displays a team building and collaborative mentality.
  • Possesses a hospitality focus and is service oriented.

PAY RANGE: $68,000 - $80,000/yr. DOE + STIC (bonus) + LTIC

**Potential of STIC (bonus) $20,000 plus bonus payment in fiscal year 2025 subject to the achievement of recruiting targets set for the fiscal year.
