Job Summary
The Academic Recruiter will report to the Director of Student Success and Recruitment and play a critical role in increasing enrollment in the College of Science (COS) undergraduate programs. The recruiter will develop and implement strategies to attract and matriculate students, in line with the goals set by the College of Science and UTA Enrollment Management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Recruitment Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment plans for the College of Science in collaboration with the Director of Student Success and Recruitment and UTA Enrollment Management. Identify and leverage new marketing, recruitment, and retention strategies to increase student enrollment.
* Outreach & Engagement: Represent the College of Science at recruitment events, including information sessions, forums, open houses, special events, receptions, and orientations. Conduct strategic communication with prospective students via phone, online chats, social media, email, and traditional correspondence. Organize and execute events designed to increase student matriculation, such as receptions, forums, college fairs, and admitted student days.
* Collaboration & Liaison: Work closely with COS Academic Units and University Communications to support the production and distribution of marketing materials (brochures, flyers, viewbooks, social media, and web-based content). Serve as the liaison between the College of Science, UTA Admissions and Recruitment, UTA University Advising and Engagement Center, and Office of Orientation assisting prospective students during the application and matriculation cycle as needed. Coordinate with the UTA Welcome Center for academic tour programming and presentations.
* Creative & Content Development: Suggest and evaluate creative graphic solutions, including posters, brochures, flyers, newsletters, giveaways, invitations, and websites. Develop communication materials and marketing pieces to support current and future program initiatives.
* Event & Program Management:Lead the College of Science Welcome session at new student orientations, including Maventure. Oversee academic programming for events like Maverick Family and Friends Weekend, in collaboration with the Parent and Family Services office. Assist with student activity events such as Welcome Back Bash, Midterm Unwind Your Mind, Maverick Stampede, Science Week, Women in Science, and COS Speaker Series.
* Program Development & Support: Hire, train, and manage the COS Outreach Ambassador program. Participate in university-wide committees related to outreach and orientation. Assist with special projects and assignments as required by the Director and the COS Dean's Office Administration.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of (2) two years of experience in university recruitment, student affairs and a proven record of achieving recruitment goals or seven (7) yeas of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
* Prior experience in higher education recruitment.
* Persuasive skills in marketing and recruitment, with a solid understanding of industry best practices.
* Solid organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
* Experience in managing Student Ambassador programs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Strong communication skills, including interpersonal, presentation, and writing abilities.
* Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and constituencies.
* Experience with graphic design and content management for websites. Proficiency with technology such as CRMs and social media platforms (e.g., SLATE, Emma, Hub Spot, Canvas, Microsoft Office Suite, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook).
