Position Overview

As Mach9 rapidly grows, we are seeking a strategic and collaborative Founding Recruiter to lead our recruitment efforts and define excellence in our talent function. You will manage the full recruitment cycle, with a focus on sourcing and hiring top technical and commercial talent. Beyond filling roles, you'll establish scalable systems, optimize the candidate experience, and act as a true partner to hiring managers and leadership. This is a high-impact role requiring strategic vision, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Talent Acquisition: Design and execute recruiting strategies to attract and hire top-tier talent across technical and commercial roles. Ensure a fast, efficient, and diverse hiring process that provides a best-in-class candidate experience.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with leadership and hiring managers to understand team priorities and future hiring needs. Align on candidate qualifications, culture fit, and growth potential. Maintain clear, organized records in our ATS (Ashby) to drive consistency and scale effectively.
  • Exceptional Candidate Experience: Craft engaging, transparent, and efficient candidate journeys that reflect Mach9's values of speed, technical excellence, and collaboration. Ensure candidates feel valued, informed, and excited to solve real-world problems alongside our team.
  • Talent Advocacy: Actively represent Mach9 as a face of the company at industry conferences, recruiting events, and university programs. Showcase our values, culture, and mission to attract top talent while building excitement and awareness about our impact and opportunities.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Proven Recruitment Expertise: 3-5 years of experience recruiting technical and commercial talent, ideally in a high-growth startup or tech environment.
  • Speed & Agility: Proven ability to deliver results in fast-paced, evolving environments. You thrive under pressure with a proactive and flexible approach.
  • Exceptional Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on thoughtful, clear, and persuasive messaging.
  • Leadership & Ownership: Ability to lead by example as the first recruiting hire, demonstrating initiative, integrity, and a forward-thinking mindset.
  • Collaboration: Experience working cross-functionally with leadership and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-Oriented & Process-Driven: Passion for process improvement, metrics tracking, and scalability. Proficiency with ATS platforms (e.g., Ashby) and a willingness to learn new tools quickly.
