Position Summary:
Virginia Commonwealth University's (VCU) School of Business is seeking a diverse and qualified individual to join our team as a Graduate Program Recruiter. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting recruitment strategies to attract diverse, high-caliber graduate students to our programs. You will work closely with faculty, staff, current students, alumni, and the local business community to promote the VCU School of Business and its portfolio of graduate programs, including MBA and specialized Master's.

Typical Schedule: This full-time position (Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week) allows for a flexible work schedule to accommodate occasional evening and weekend hours in support of recruitment events. The role is primarily in-person at the School of Business in Richmond, VA. This position is eligible for a limited hybrid and flexible work schedule once training is complete and must be coordinated and approved by the supervisor of this role. Hybrid and flexible arrangements may not be possible during campus events or high student service periods.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting recruitment strategies to attract diverse, high-caliber graduate students to our programs. You will work closely with faculty, staff, current students, alumni, and the local business community to promote the VCU School of Business and its portfolio of graduate programs, including MBA and specialized Master's.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Outreach & Engagement: Support outreach activities, including but not limited to: webinars and on-campus info sessions, business development/conferences, and sponsored community networking events to promote the School of Business' portfolio of graduate programs.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with prospective students, undergraduate and graduate advisors, industry professionals, and other key stakeholders to support recruitment efforts.
- Admissions Support: Connect with prospective students throughout the admissions process, including relaying accurate program information, application requirements, deadlines, and financial aid options. Provide guidance to existing applicants including notification of missing documents and conducting applicant interviews.
- Marketing & Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to create promotional materials, digital content such as emails and website copy, and social media campaigns to enhance program visibility.
- Data Management: Utilize CRM software and other tools to track and analyze recruitment and alumni data and/or generate reports to inform recruitment strategies.
- Event Planning and Coordination: Assist in planning, outreach and the execution of various recruitment events including information sessions, webinars, open houses, workshops, and orientations. This role involves occasional travel to represent VCU Business at recruitment and campus events, including corporate visits and networking opportunities, and requires access to reliable transportation.
- Work on special projects and initiatives as needed to support the School of Business
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in Business, Marketing, Communications, Higher Education, or a related field.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Slate).
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Ability to work primarily in-person at Snead Hall.
- A passion for higher education and a commitment to promoting VCU's mission and values.
- Experience working in and fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment or the commitment to do so as an employee at VCU.
- Access to reliable transportation for occasional travel to recruitment events, corporate visits, and networking opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in recruitment, admissions, marketing, event planning, or customer service is preferred but not required.
