HR Generalist (Contract)
Santa Monica, CA (hybrid) - required to be on-site at our Santa Monica offices, 3 times a week
Please note, this is a 12-month temporary position, through our Staffing Partner, DZX, with a high likelihood of converting to full-time. We are looking for an HR Generalist to support our AAA game studio Naughty Dog. The right candidate will be responsible for providing outstanding day-to-day support to the Naughty Dog Studio. To achieve this, the person will need to understand the overall studio goals, culture, and challenges. Have the ability to collaborate with the HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) and PlayStation Studios (PSS) HRBP team to deliver valuable service and support. This includes responding to employee questions, resolving issues, managing employee life cycle transactions, coordinating learning and development opportunities, and providing general support to the studio.
What You'll be Doing:
- Promote positive employee relationships through communication and interpretation of HR policies.
- Assist people managers and the studio with questions and issues.
- Partner with HRBP to create and implement talent strategies that are tailored to the Studio's teams needs in order to address retention and development needs.
- Help manage all full cycle HR processes for the Studio from onboarding to offboarding, benefits, employee relations, performance management, engagement surveys, training, and development.
- Address employee relations issues and partner with Senior HR Partner to address complex issues and emerging themes.
- Conduct and analyze employee exit interviews.
- Assist the Studio Operations team with employee engagement and studio events.
- Keep a pulse on employee engagement in the studio through check-ins with employees.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
Player Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in HR/Business or related field (or equivalent years of experience).
- Minimum 3 years + experience and proven results within HR in a fast-paced, high-tech, or creative environment.
- Working knowledge of HR laws, federal regulations, and CA state laws.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and common sense regarding sensitive information is a must.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience working with people at all levels of the organization.
- Innovative and creative approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to create and foster business relationships with managers and employees.
- High level of initiative and responsiveness with an aim to quickly resolve problems.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and set priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- Experience using Workday or any other HR system.
- Previous experience working with creative teams and in gaming is a bonus!
The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$92,400 — $138,600 USD
