Position: Human Resources Generalist

Location: East Hanover NJ, 07936

Hours: 9am-5pm

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000

SUMMARY:

Human Resources professional responsible for a broad compliment of Human Resources functions including performance evaluations, employee relations, on-boarding, policy research and policy proposal support, etc.


Duties and responsibilities

  • Perform full range of Employee Relations Functions. In consultation with HR Director and outside counsel.

  • Manage the performance evaluation process. Provide guidance, feedback and coaching to managers regarding performance issues as well as associated documentation and follow-up.
  • Assist Human Resources Director in supervising the Human Resources Department staff by providing guidance, coaching, structure to tasks, mentoring, as well as recommending and creating systems to streamline work processes and improve efficiency.
  • Manages and track employee leaves of absence and disability cases for FMLA, NJ FLA, NJ FLI and NJ Temporary Disability including but not limited to employee notifications and follow up, calculation of eligibility, tracking qualifying leaves, handling employee questions, reviewing certifications, and contacting physicians and/or employee representatives ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations and company policies. In consult with HR Director, review and update company leave, FMLA, NJ FLA, NJ FLI and NJ Temporary Disability policies and procedures as required.

  • Responsible for managing job description updates including solicitation, collection and filing, ensuring use of appropriate format, completing PCNs as required and obtaining appropriate signatures where necessary.

  • Conduct exit interviews for non-management employees alerting HR Director to any matters requiring investigation and resolution.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, team members, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
  • Prepare personnel files and maintain compliance for audit reviews.
  • Other responsibilities as directed by the Human Resources Director.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration or related field.
  • Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years HR Generalist experience or combination of relevant experience and education required.
  • Healthcare experience a plus.
