The Opportunity

The HR Generalist is responsible for performing HR and payroll related duties on a professional level and will work closely with the HR Director and team to create a positive and engaging employee experience. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruiting, leave of absence management, employee relations and engagement, payroll processing and filing, benefit administration, onboarding and termination processing, policy implementation, workers compensation and safety. This position will handle day to day HR and payroll operations to support the organization and employee base. This position will also participate in company-wide projects to drive business strategy and initiatives.

The Team

You will report directly to our Director of Human Resources. You will also work with our vendors, clients, and internal departments both in person and virtually.

The Environment

This is an office-based role in our Folsom, CA headquarter location with hybrid option 1-2 days per week. You will work primarily onsite in a controlled office environment.

Your Key Contributions

  • Manage the onboarding process, which may include recruiting, interviewing, sending offer letters, and onboarding • Ensure job descriptions are up to date and compliant with all local, state and federal regulations; meet with managers to create job descriptions for new roles as necessary • Assist in conducting compensation reviews • Assist with employee relations; acting as a resource for employees and management/leadership teams • Benefit administration • Assist with internal training • Leave of absence management • Advocate for a positive employee experience and high engagement; promote a positive work environment through effective communication and interaction with team members • Manage accurate employment and payroll records. • Ensure the organization's compliance with local, state and federal regulations • Ensure company policies are applied consistently throughout the organization • Maintain HR systems and processes • Provide support and guidance to employees • Accurately process payroll; audit applicable payroll reports

Traits for Success

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist capacity
  • Experience managing payroll for multi-state organization
  • Prior experience in benefit administration and ability to understand applicable laws and regulations
  • Must be resourceful and able to accurately interpret and maintain up to date knowledge of federal and state laws as they pertain to payroll and employment
  • Experience consulting with and advising management and employees
  • Demonstrated strong foundation in core HR fundamentals to effectively support the organization on various HR practices and processes
  • Familiarity with legislation concerning employment such as: ADA, FMLA, EEOC, FLSA, Title VII
  • Working knowledge of MS Office software required; 3 years of experience managing an HRIS system (Bamboo, ADP, etc.)
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Ability to work with sensitive and personal employee data and maintain the utmost confidentiality
  • Team player and self-starter with ability to remain calm in stressful situations; must be able to effectively communicate and develop trusting relationships with employees at all levels
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, able to think critically
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Pay Transparency

This announcement is open to the Director level. The base pay range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000 annual salary. This is an Exempt position. Compensation is based on market rate, job level, job related knowledge, skills, experience, education, and certifications. This is a full-time opportunity.
