Job Description
The Human Resource Generalist will help run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including employee relations, hiring, onboarding, offboarding, benefits, leave of absences, and enforcing company policies and practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs and serves as a consultant of tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to onboarding, offboarding, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Assists with employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Helps to provide day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Works closely with the HR Assistant to ensure the successful onboarding of new hires and confirms all documents and screenings are received prior to start date.
- Utilizes HR software for effective management of employee records, performance tracking, and reporting requests.
- Acts as an employee champion and change agent by assessing and anticipating HR-related needs.
- Communicates various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations across the organization.
- Analyzes trends and metrics to develop effective organizational solutions, programs and policies.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews, tracks, and documents policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Other Duties:
- Complies with all Company policies, procedures, rules and standards.
- Manages special projects, as needed.
- Travel, as needed, to APT locations, professional/industry conferences, and career fairs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Education: (include, but are not limited to)
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in Human Resources
- 1+ year of experience in Employee Relations
- PHR, SPHR or CP certification a plus!
- Equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for prolonged periods at desk and working on a computer Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at a time Ability to travel to other locations
