Job Summary:

Leads and supports the organization's HR programs and policies as they apply to talent management, employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance, and talent acquisition. Key HR business partner to plant Supply Chain business leaders.

Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):
  • Develop HR strategy to advance and support the local implementation of the regional and global functional business model. Analyze HR metrics to create and implement action plans based on those metrics aligned with function and/or business objectives
  • Act as a consultant to Business Leaders for Human Resource issues including, but not limited to career development, staffing, discipline, performance evaluations, and talent management (succession planning, leadership development) while leading positive employee relations and engagement programs
  • Understand the business needs of the facility and translate those needs into HR services and feedback to the HR COE's to ensure the plant(s) benefits from strategic Human Resource services and drive the implementation of standardized processes.
  • Lead, support, and deploy the organization's HR programs and policies as they apply to employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance, and talent acquisition.
  • Ensure both the needs of the business and the needs of the people are balanced while driving Company's standardized processes into the location.

  • Work collaboratively with Lean and Quality initiatives to ensure success of continuous improvement.
  • Work with Health & Safety professionals to ensure successful health & safety programs.
  • Develop and deploy effective communication strategies for the location (i.e., newsletters, plant meetings, technology, etc.).
  • Partner with plant leadership and employees regarding employee relations and conflict resolution by building strong partnerships and facilitating resolution between employees and leaders. Perform internal investigations, prepare necessary documentation, and testify at hearings, as required.
  • Maintain compliance with all State and Federal laws, rules and regulations concerning employment, workers compensation and safety regulations. Represents the company at hearings and investigations. Responsible for site specific policy review, updates, changes and communication. Actively participate in the review and improvement of HR policies across all US locations and drive implementation and standardization across the site in alignment with other US locations.

SCOPE & IMPACT:

Provides leadership and functional support for all employees and the management team within the location. A functional part of the core team; works to meet the annual operating plan and the strategic plans of the region. Responsible for population of 1,000-2,000 employees with payrolls of 40M - 80M and sales of 350M - 550M. Provides support to a campus of multiple buildings, processes and work schedules. Responsible for the Dayton campus location including the manufacturing plant locations, the Innovation Center, and the Parts Distribution Center.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field with 8-10 years of experience including 5+ years of leadership/supervisory experience or equivalent
  • Effective Communicator
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Solid knowledge of HR analytics
  • Travel Required: 10%

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
  • MBA or Masters in Human Resources
  • PHR/SPHR Certification
  • SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification
  • Multi-lingual - Spanish & English

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 3 - 4 direct reports

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet and represents those found in an office environment. Occasional shop floor visits will also be required which requires the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and proper attire to ensure safety.

Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, stoop or kneel. Occasionally required to walk and lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
