SUMMARY

Human Resources Business Partner collaborates with business leaders to implement HR strategies that attract, develop, and retain high-performing employees, contributing to overall organizational success. This position also serves as a strategic advisor, providing expert guidance on talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, and organizational development.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivers exceptional HR support to managers and employees, ensuring a positive and productive work environment
  • Maintains a deep understanding of company policies, procedures, and legal regulations and effectively communicates to management and team members
  • Ensures compliance with all internal policies, and external applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Conducts thorough investigations and resolves complex employee relations issues
  • Collaborates with legal counsel to address complex legal issues and mitigate risks
  • Leads proactive recruitment efforts, particularly for hard-to-fill positions
  • Assists in the development and may facilitate the new hire onboarding and orientation program as a backup
  • Ensures compliance with EEO regulations and diversity initiatives
  • Develops and implements performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and coaching
  • Coordinates and delivers various training programs, such as new hire orientation, compliance training, and professional development workshops
  • Oversees exit interviews and analyzes turnover data
  • Conducts regular audits of HR records and processes to identify and correct errors
  • Reviews and approves personnel forms, including new hire paperwork, payroll, benefits, and termination documentation
  • Stays current and ensures compliance with various employment laws and regulations, such as FLSA, Title VII, FMLA, ADA, FFCRA, DOT, and Workers' Compensation
  • Develops and implements standardized interview guidelines and selection criteria
  • Trains hiring managers on effective interviewing techniques and bias mitigation strategies
  • Monitors interview data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Supports compensation program development and pay equity analysis
  • Assists with various payroll tasks, such as data entry, calculations, and report generation and supports the payroll team during peak periods or in the absence of other team members
  • Generates reports and analyzes HR metrics to identify trends and inform decision-making
  • Inputs employee data into HRIS systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Runs reports to track key HR metrics, such as turnover, absenteeism, and performance
  • Analyzes HR data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions
  • Provides guidance and support to other HR team members
  • Assists with special projects and initiatives as assigned by the VP of HR

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a generalist HR role
  • Proven experience in resolving complex employee relations issues
  • Previous experience working in HRIS systems and payroll preferred
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving skills; Great decision-making ability
  • Proven success with prioritizing projects/tasks
  • Ability and willingness to proactively see duties and tasks through to completion
  • Strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work discreetly with sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to work in busy, fast-paced environment
  • High School Degree or equivalent required
  • Available to travel over the course of the year (<10%)
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is preferred
