Under the direction of HR management, the Senor HR Business Partner ensures consistent delivery of Lighthouse’s mission, vision, values and leadership competencies by providing ongoing, consultative support for managers and staff on all aspects of employee relations. This semi-autonomous role works closely with the HR & Development team to execute HR and organizational strategies which positively impact team member experience throughout the employee lifecycle, while also maintaining compliance with Federal and State employment laws and regulations. The Senior HR Business Partner will also collaborate with the HR & Development team to assist with various departmental projects and initiatives and may also serve as a backup to other HR functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establishes and maintains an understanding of Lighthouse Credit Union business areas and may have a certain business area as a primary focus.

• Develops proactive relationships with department leaders and key stakeholders. Partners specifically with managers to ensure consistent delivery of Lighthouse’s mission, vision, values, and leadership competencies.

• Supports and helps to promote and implement strategic goals and objectives for the organization.

• Works with business areas and HR & Development team to acquire and retain talent, develop future pipelines, identify talent gaps, and implement succession planning strategies. Provides interview assistance and aids in new hire onboarding as needed.

• Assesses employee performance, reviews and coaches on performance appraisals, performance improvement plans, impact development plans, etc., and makes recommendations through a consultative approach with management.

• Partners with employees and managers with offboarding process and exit interviews and initiates appropriate follow-up.

• Coaches managing leaders on HR policy and procedures and works closely with the HR & Development team to ensure consistency with policy interpretation

• Utilizes reports in HRIS for performance, retention, succession planning and to support HR & Development team as needed.

• Collaborates with HR & Development team on various departmental initiative and employee engagement projects. May provide back-up support to other HR functions such as recruiting, benefits, and payroll.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

• Demonstrates influencing and coaching skills to develop individual and managing leaders.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization. Presentation skills preferred.

• Possesses a strong business acumen.

• Adherence to confidentiality, use of tact, discretion, and good judgement.

• Strong organization skills, ability to work independently and shift priorities as needed.

• Continuous and working knowledge of Federal and State (FMLA, FLSA, ADA, ACA, and EEO) regulations and legislation impacting employment law.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS systems.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

• Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field).

• Eight to ten years of similar or related experience.

• Certificate in Human Resources preferred.

• PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
