About Us: Legacy Outdoor Group (includes St. Cyr Pool & Spa and Budget Pools) is a leading provider of pool and spa services in the Essex County, MA area. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service and high-quality products, including hot tubs, swim spas, and pools. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated HR Generalist to join our team and manage all aspects of our human resources functions.

Position Summary: The HR Generalist will be responsible for overseeing the hiring process, onboarding new employees, managing benefits and PTO, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR, excellent communication skills, and a passion for fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Our organization consists of 4 locations and 2 separate operating entities including Budget Pools in Peabody MA and 2 other St. Cyr locations in NH. Between all locations we have as many as 100 team members at peak season, and roughly 45+ year round.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hiring and Recruitment:
    • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
    • Manage the end-to-end hiring process, including job postings, interviewing, and selection.
    • Work with department heads to understand hiring needs and develop job descriptions.
  • Onboarding:
    • Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation and onboarding programs.
    • Ensure a smooth transition for new employees by providing necessary training and resources.
    • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation.
  • Benefits and PTO:
    • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and PTO.
    • Assist employees with benefits enrollment and questions.
    • Monitor and manage employee leave requests and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices and legal requirements.
    • Conduct regular audits of HR processes and records to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR, preferably in a generalist role.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in HR software (we use BambooHR) and Microsoft Office and Google business Suite.
