As a member of the Human Resources Leadership Team, the Vice President, HR Business Partner - Regions will be responsible for providing HR leadership, consulting, and expertise across the three regions - Americas (NA, LATAM), Europe (EMEA), and Asia Pacific (APAC) - to support the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic and operational plans. The individual will align Under Armour’s global Human Resources strategies with business strategies and successfully implement critical people initiatives in a fast-paced, complex, and rapidly growing business.
The VP, HRBP reports to the Chief People Officer and will be based in Baltimore, MD leading a team of four direct reports and over 60 teammates across the three regions inclusive of 30+ countries. This teammate will provide direct support to the Americas region serving as the direct partner to the President of the Americas. The HR leaders for EMEA and APAC report directly into this role. The Regions, representing the commercial operations of the company, is comprised of ~1,000 corporate teammates and 13,000 retail teammates in locations around the world.
Your Impact
- Partner closely with the Americas Managing Director/EVP, her leadership team, and the broader HR team to develop and implement a HR Strategy that aligns with the Americas business strategy and vision for broader organization; this strategy needs to connect and align across the value chain and enable the Protect this House (PTH) strategies.
- Direct leader of the Americas HR POD, driving organization design, workforce planning, change management, and talent management for the Americas region; ensuring programs are in place for all key capabilities within the portfolio and implementing strategies, such as hiring and development to meet business needs; support and facilitate the talent management agenda for leadership positions and succession planning for management roles.
- Oversee the HR Business Partner function of EMEA and APAC by guiding and leading the respective regional heads of HR; drive global alignment across three regions yet deliver balanced solutions based on regional nuances.
- Consults, coaches and influences the Americas, EMEA, and APAC leadership teams in the development and execution of business-specific people strategy and tactics, aligned to the HR life cycle processes, with responsibility on the people components in the BU Long Range Plan.
- Partner with senior leaders and teams to grow the Americas business, demonstrating an understanding of the marketplace, business risks, business drivers, the financials, and the associated HR implications and opportunities.
- Provide coaching and feedback to Americas leadership on team effectiveness, hiring, performance management, talent assessment and development, compensation, and employee engagement.
- Represent Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions and engage HR COEs to create and deploy the following across corporate and retail:
- Talent acquisition strategy delivering a consistent pipeline of internal and external talent.
- Proper application of total rewards programs.
- Training and development programs to meet the needs of the business unit.
- Establishing wage and salary structure, pay policies.
- Compliance with applicable employment regulations.
- Deliver against Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) goals and strategies to foster an inclusive workplace culture, ensuring alignment with our Mission and Values.
- Ensure effective reporting and analysis of HR data to enable the business to make key operational and strategic decisions.
- Create an environment of continuous improvement in HR and within the business by establishing new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, human resources, or related field preferred; MBA a plus.
- 15+ years of practical and relevant HR experience in global settings, with at least 5+ years of leadership/management; retail experience required.
- 10+ years of successful business partnership at a divisional/executive level operating with large brand-centric retail organizations.
- Proven ability to think and act strategically while demonstrating operational disciplines that lead to consistent high-performance.
- Track record of leading large, enterprise-wide change initiatives to address critical business priorities with clear quantifiable results.
- Experience leading high-performing, dispersed, global teams with a track record of driving consistent high-performance.
- Knowledge of European employment laws and familiarity with compliance on EU regulations across member states.
- The ability to make the complex, simple; digest large amounts of data and other inputs and identify the few, compelling actions that will yield the highest return on investment.
- Ability to influence, persuade, and sell in a demanding and high-performing work environment.
- Smart, creative, compelling, and driven; not afraid to lead others past their comfort zone(s).
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders; consultative and collaborative style that allows for influence without authority.
- Energized by speed with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities creating a sense of urgency.
Workplace Location
- Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our global headquarters in Baltimore, MD.
- Return to Work Designation: Three (3) days week in-office, the remainder of work week remote.
- Travel: 5-10% globally as necessary.
Relocation
- Relocation may be provided.
Base Compensation
- $229,605.12 - $287,006.40 USD.
Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
