Working location: Joint Expeditionary Base/Little Creek

$17.20/hr

The Janitor cleans and keeps in an orderly condition factory working areas and washrooms, or premises of an office, apartment house, or commercial or other establishments. Duties involve a combination of the following: sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing floors; removing trash and other refuse; dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; providing supplies and minor maintenance services; and cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms (WDR 11150).
  • Cleans and keeps in an orderly condition working areas and washrooms of an office, or commercial or other establishments.
  • Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors using brooms, mops, and powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
  • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using a vacuum cleaner.
  • Dusting furniture and equipment.
  • Polishing metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
  • Washing walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
  • Washington windows, door panels, and sills
  • Emptying wastebaskets and cleaning ashtrays.
  • Transporting trash, waste, and other refuse to disposal areas.
  • Cleaning restrooms' fixtures, floors, walls, and replenishing supplies.
  • Responsible for working with a positive team spirit and producing quality work.
  • Responsible for appropriate conduct and demeanor as dictated by Didlake policy.
  • Follows safety standards and guidelines in the proper use f equipment and other activities.
  • Completes and maintains all Didlake required training.

Education:
  • High School diploma/GED or six (6) months custodial experience.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Must be a United States citizen
  • Possess the ability to obtain and maintain the appropriate credentials/ background check as required by contract.
  • Ability to carry out simple but detailed oral instructions.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and work as part of a team
  • Ability to interact effectively with co-workers with disabilities.
