Job Corps is a government-funded, no cost education and vocational training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps socioeconomically disadvantaged youth between the ages of 16-24 improve the quality of their lives through academic and career technical training.  Job Corps' mission is to attract eligible young people, teach them the skills they need to become employable and independent, and place them in meaningful jobs or further education.  

Job Summary

Responsible for responding to general maintenance work orders throughout the center.  Must be able to work evenings and weekends.  This position is on a 6 week rotating schedule.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, and one years’ related work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
  • Performs general janitorial duties in an office, such as cleaning, dusting, washing windows, and moving and polishing furniture and equipment.
  • Sweeps, mops and polishes floors. Vacuums and spot cleans carpets.
  • Empties trash receptacles and dusts furniture.
  • Performs minor maintenance repairs. Arranges for repair of office equipment and utilities.
  • Transports students as authorized.
  • Ensures that all tools and equipment are in good repair.
