JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting with janitorial team training and overseeing workflow production for efficient productivity and timely completion of duties in assigned areas. Physically perform janitorial tasks, including cleaning/stocking restrooms, emptying trash on property and offices, and working in all weather conditions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Performs routine janitorial maintenance as specified by Supervisor including cleaning/stocking restrooms, emptying trash cans, cleaning offices, monitoring property for trash on ground, etc.
  • Oversee workflow of staff for efficient productivity and successful completion of duties; delegate work assignments as appropriate.
  • Assist with dispensing supplies. Deliver supplies to sites across the Garden. Log all supplies dispensed to assist with accurate inventory.
  • Identify, report and document any problems with facilities as needed (i.e. leaks, broken items, maintenance issues, etc.).
  • Safely operate and be responsible for minor maintenance of janitorial equipment used; assure equipment is secured at the end of each day and ready for use the following day. Notify supervisor of any supply needs.
  • Monitor equipment, repair minor problems, and report repair needs as appropriate.
  • Meet janitorial project completion schedules on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Assist in group and special projects as required. This could include power washing carpet cleaning, general equipment repairs (replacing scrubber pads, cleaning vacuums, changing filters and belts, ect.).

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year experience leading a janitorial crew preferred; knowledge of cleaning systems and procedures.
  • Basic communication skills; bilingual preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, repetitively bend/stoop, climb ladder/stairs, move across property, work in all weather conditions and follow approved safety guidelines.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Driver’s license required to operate garden vehicles.
  • Must pass a background check, drug test and physical examination.

  • Ability to follow directions and to successfully delegate and oversee workflow.
  • Proficient with internal and external customer service.
