Shift: Day

The role you'll contribute:

Provide quality patient care to all patients within the medical imaging department. Perform high quality images and exams on patients while maintaining sensitivity to patient needs. Follow standards of safe radiation practice. Demonstrate leadership abilities and be a role model for other associate technologists. Act as a clinical resource to students, staff technologists, and other hospital personnel. Assure current standards of practice for the unit.

  • Prepares patient for exam. Provides information and instruction to patient and/or family regarding the procedure and responds to their physical and emotional needs.
  • Observes patient and equipment during the procedure and reports/documents unusual occurrences and records patient’s condition.
  • Facilitates smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal use of equipment/resources.
  • Communicates in writing and verbally with all physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff in facilitating the continuum of care.
  • Ability to provide on-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours per department and/or facility policy.
  • Maintains technical operation of equipment and notifies service when necessary. Notifies supervisor of equipment problems and logs the service call/problem per department procedure.
  • Participates in clinical training and provides support to students, staff technologists, and other hospital personnel. Provides guidance for development of clinical skills, explains equipment and department procedures, and supports hospital and program policies/procedures.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Registered Technologist, Radiology - R.T. (R) (ARRT) Bone Density certification preferred within 6 months of hire, if applicable to entity.
  • Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
