Job Title: Remote/Hybrid California Associate Clinicians


Bay Area Therapy Group (BATG) was founded in 2021 with a mission to create a group practice where therapists could focus on providing client services without having to worry about obtaining clients, scheduling, or billing and receive a living wage with comprehensive benefits. Our company is run transparently with regular meetings to review company status. In just three years, we have grown from a single therapist and one intern to 35 clinicians supported by five professional staff members.

Position Summary: The position is part-time, with the option to transition to full-time. Part-time requires a minimum commitment of 18 client hours per week. Full-time requires a commitment of 36 client hours per week. The actual number of sessions will often be lower due to cancellations, but clinicians must be prepared to see a full caseload. If a candidate lives in the Bay Area, they must see patients in person on two weekdays OR one Saturday, Sunday, or evening per week at our Berkley, Concord, or Antioch offices. Candidates may choose to work in person or remotely the rest of the time. The position is open to AMFTs, ASW’s, ALPCs. We cannot provide supervision at this time for an Associate Psychologist.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following:

  • Conduct initial consultations to gather patients’ psychosocial information
  • Currently have a minimum of 1000 clinical hours towards California licensure
  • Diagnostically assess a patient's emotional and mental health and develop a treatment plan
  • Intervene with emergency care techniques and protocols when patients are in crisis
  • Provide referrals for additional care or services when required
  • Maintaining detailed confidential records using our Electronic Health Records system
  • Other duties may be assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Registered with the California BBS as an AMFT, ASW, or APCC
  • M.A. in Behavioral Sciences, Clinical Psychology
  • Must have a minimum of 1000 supervised clinical hours towards licensure in the state of California.

Computer Skills:

  • Must be able to proficiently document notes in an EHR system.
  • Must have experience providing teletherapy

Additional Requirements:

  • An up-to-date CAQH profile
  • An NPI number

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Multilingual
  • Certification or additional training in EMDR, neurofeedback, DBT or Gottman Method therapy
  • Specialization in children and adolescents
  • Lived and/or extensive professional experience with neurodivergent, LGBTQ, BIPOC, or immigrant communities
