APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Part Time Phlebotomist
The Prevention Research Center, College of Health and Human Development has an opening for a part-time phlebotomist/data collector. This position includes work on site with teenagers and their families in our research clinic, located in Altoona, Pa. The primary responsibilities will be collecting, aliquoting, and processing blood and other biospecimens. To serve in this role, you must be a certified/licensed phlebotomist and have experience drawing blood from teenagers. Experience processing biospecimen samples preferred. Additional research tasks, such as administering standardized assessments and conducting participant interviews may be assigned as needed. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to work with people from various backgrounds, be comfortable using computers, and possess strong organizations skills. Phlebotomists/data collectors will need to follow detailed research procedures and be flexible in handling unforeseen circumstances at the clinic.
This part-time position will offer up to 20 hours per week, with training and work expected to begin May 2021. Must have reliable transportation and a current driver's license. Evening and alternating weekend availability required.
This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid US driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
