Join Our Team as a Tax Accounting Analyst I

We’re currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Accounting Analyst I to join our dynamic Insurance Accounting Team—a diverse group of hardworking, bright, and curious professionals. In this role, you’ll work closely with a variety of clients, performing essential tasks such as maintaining general ledgers, preparing financial statements, and ensuring accurate tax compliance for producer-affiliated reinsurance companies (PARCs), dealer-owned warranty companies (DOWCs), and captive insurance clients. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, accrual adjustments, and reconciliations of general ledger and bank/investment accounts.
- Develop and maintain accurate accounting records, including trial balances and client-specific financial information.
- Prepare federal income tax returns and related Internal Revenue Service forms and prepare state income tax returns when applicable.
- Produce interim, quarterly, and annual financial statements on a GAAP and/or statutory basis as required.
- Coordinate and document quarterly tax estimates and payments for assigned clients using GPW’s CRM tools.
- Develop a foundational understanding of financial statements, tax returns, and internal proprietary systems, leveraging QuickBooks as needed.
- Proactively ensure timely and accurate reporting to meet client needs in a fast-paced environment.
About You
We’re looking for candidates who are organized, driven, and ready to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. Successful candidates will meet the following qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience in tax or accounting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel (advanced level), Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and QuickBooks. Knowledge of SAP, GAAP, and IRS Tax Code/Regulations is required.
- Soft Skills: Strong initiative, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment. A high level of integrity and a solution-oriented mindset are essential.
- Adaptability: Comfortable navigating ambiguity, balancing multiple priorities, and meeting deadlines.
- Work Environment: Enthusiastic about working on-site for the first three months. After this period, eligible employees may transition to a hybrid work model (two in-office days per week). Full-time in-office work is also available.
