We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Assistant in Santa Barbara, California. The role is primarily focused on managing payroll operations and assisting with various accounting functions within the financial services industry. The workplace is 100% on-site and demands proficiency in accounting software systems, ADP Workforce Now, and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee payroll requisitions to ensure they are completed accurately and timely.
• Regularly interact with payroll technicians, providing necessary assistance and follow-ups.
• Efficiently process leaves, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Leverage Microsoft Excel to export financial data from the database and paste into workbooks for further analysis.
• Utilize vlookups in Excel to check variances and verify correct hours reported.
• Maintain and update complex Excel workbooks, ensuring accuracy of financial records.
• Utilize accounting software systems and ADP Workforce Now for various accounting functions.
• Monitor and audit accounting and benefits functions to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.• Applicants must have a minimum of 1 year experience in an accounting role.
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential.
• Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now software is required.
• Experience with About Time software is a plus.
• Comprehensive knowledge of general accounting functions is necessary.
• Previous involvement in auditing processes is desired.
• Understanding of benefit functions is beneficial.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are mandatory.
