Job Description
We are extending an opportunity for an Accounting Clerk role based in the Sioux City, IA area. The role is positioned within our core accounting team and focuses on the preparation of month-end close activities, ensures accurate calculation of product costs, tracks the production status and costs of raw materials, and helps with the efficient management of finished goods inventory. The Accounting Clerk will also handle standard accounting cycle functions such as entry of accounts payable/receivable activities in the company ERP system.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Efficiently manage and track raw material and processed lots in the inventory
• Accurately calculate costs associated with each product run
• Ensure timely data entry through effective communication with copackers
• Verify items intended for cooler and freezer storage against warehouse receipts
• Handle the entry of Accounts Payable for vendors and receipt of inventory into the ERP system stock
• Attach completed production lotted inventory to Accounts Receivable invoices
• Monitor and manage yields and inventory
• Candidate must have 2 or more years of experience in an Accounting Clerk role or similar.
• Associate or Bachelor's degrees are a plus but neither is a requirement to have obtained
• Experience contributing to month-end financial close in prior roles required
• Experience working within a Manufacturing/Production OR a Distribution/Warehousing company is highly desired, but not a requirement
• Prior experience with enterprise-wide ERP systems and/or accounting software beneficial
• Any experience working with Inventory or Fixed Asset accounting a plus
• Must be willing to learn new accounting and finance responsibilities as the role will progress over time
