YOUR ROLE:
The primary purpose of the Internship is to provide a broad exposure to accounting functions as a learning opportunity for the Intern. The Intern, Accounting will assist the accounting team with daily accounting tasks with the help of the Controller and Staff Accountant. This role will interact with all business areas. Critical relationships will include the Controller, AP accountant and Staff Accountant.
NOTE: This is a paid internship. The pay will be $20/hour. The schedule will be established based on the school schedule and availability of supervisor for approximately 10 hours/week.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Posting financial transactions using accounting software.
- Managing gift card inventory and distribution.
- Entering fixed assets into the accounting system.
- Assisting with data entry, recordkeeping, and maintaining financial records.
- Supporting month-end closing processes.
- Collaborating with the Controller and team on ad-hoc projects.
- Contributing to our commitment to undoing racism and reducing disparities by promoting culturally responsive practices.
WHAT YOU OFFER:
Education:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited program, pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Knowledge of general accounting practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Effective time management, prioritization, and adherence to deadlines.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer service approach.
- A commitment to Avivo's mission, values, and diversity goals, along with resilience and flexibility to achieve objectives.
- Paid internship: $20/hour.
