Job Description:

The purpose of the Accounting Clerk is to provide clerical and organizational assistance to the Accounting Department.

Goals and Objectives:

This position is expected to be punctual, organized, and professional. The Accounting Clerk must pay attention to detail as well as being able to multitask and assist in all accounting functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Analyze and process accounts payable invoices in a timely manner.

2. Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.

3. Verify and maintain Subcontractor Agreements while staying in compliance with company policies and procedures.

4. Process invoices through various customer portals to ensure timely receipt of payment.

5. Labeling and updating paper files.

6. Use alphabetical and numerical systems to organize invoices and files, digital or paper, into their proper locations.

1. Preparing and filing of city sales tax returns.
2. Filing of use tax returns via online tax software portal.
3. Processing due vendor invoice payments via credit card or online vendor portals.
4. Perform data entry associated with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
5. Obtain and manage business licenses for all branches.
6. Confidentiality in all matters.
7. Other duties as assigned.

Reporting Relationships:

The Accounting Clerk will report to the Accounting Manager but may also assist the entire accounting team.

Skills Necessary for Position:

1. High School Diploma.

2. Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles.

3. Proficient Microsoft Office knowledge and skills.

4. Strong time management and organizational skills.

5. High degree of attention to detail.

6. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

7. Strong analytic abilities.

8. Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
