Description

Title: Accounting Clerk

Job Summary:

This accounting clerk position has primary duties around the general ledger, wires processing, and internal and external reporting functions within the accounting department. This position will also back up accounts payable and credit card expense processing functions. Additionally, the position will assist the Chief Financial Officer and Controller with various general ledger and research projects.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Process daily general ledger non-posted items.
  • Prepares various daily or monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts to system applications. or correspondent bank statements.
  • Serves as a primary processor for dual-control wire entry and backs up the verification function. within the Bank's wire transfer process.
  • Assists with various internal and external reports prepared by the department.
  • Assists with processing of company credit card expenses.
  • Prepares entries to the general ledger utilizing paper-based entries and on-line entry capabilities.
  • Assists bank personnel with issues related to the general ledger or other accounting activities.
  • Acts as back up to the Accounts Payable function.
  • Performs other relevant duties as assigned.


Requirements

  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in using Microsoft Office Suite, and the Bank's current software system.

  • General knowledge of basic accounting principles.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some accounting courses preferred.
  • Banking or accounting experience preferred.
  • Wire transfer experience preferred.
