What does your Team do:

The Accounting Manager will oversee and manage the daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with GAAP, and process improvements to support the scalability of our SaaS business. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, including FP&A, Supply Chain, Sales, Engineering, and Customer Success, to ensure the financial health of the company while fostering a collaborative and proactive culture.

What You'll Do:

  • Month-End Close: Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, reporting and variance analyses.
  • Revenue Recognition: Ensure accurate revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606 and other applicable standards for subscription-based services.
  • Lease Accounting: Manage lease accounting under ASC 842, ensuring proper recording, reporting, and compliance with lease agreements.
  • Payroll: Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payroll transactions, tax compliance, and proper recording in the general ledger. Collaborate with HR and external payroll providers to address any payroll-related issues.
  • Bank and Cash Management: Approve ACH, wire payments, and monitor ACH positive pay system to ensure authorized transactions and prevent unauthorized transactions.
  • Accounting Documentation: Maintain thorough and organized accounting documentation, including processes and policies.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee AR and AP processes, including invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements.
  • Audit Coordination: Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors, ensuring timely and successful audit completion.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance and automate accounting processes to support scalability and efficiency.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a small team of accounting professionals, fostering growth and development.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with teams across the organization to ensure financial alignment, accurate reporting, and streamlined operations.
  • ERP and other related Systems: Assist in the implementation or optimization of accounting systems to meet the needs of a growing SaaS company.

Who You Are:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting. CPA or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience in the SaaS + Manufacturing industry is strongly preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606 (revenue recognition) and ASC 842 (lease accounting).
    • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Intacct, or QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
    • Experience with payroll systems and integrations (e.g., ADP, Rippling, Gusto).
    • Familiarity with banking and expense reimbursement systems
    • Experience with ERP implementations or enhancements is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
    • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with team members across different departments.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
