Job Description

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for a variety of financial activities, including supporting AR and AP, account reconciliation, and ensuring data accuracy. Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and assignments at the same time. Working with financial documents, must display a high degree of integrity and professionalism. Works under general supervision of the Accounting Manager. Provides integral company wide support from the Accounting Department. Is a key internal resource to meet stakeholder's expectations, provide stellar customer support, and complete various account service activities for the Accounting Department.

Responsibilities

  • Support Dealer sales channel Accounts Receivable:
  • Perform collections duties with overdue accounts, track and report correspondence for bi-weekly meetings
  • Collect payment and apply cash receipts to account
  • Process credit applications and determine creditworthiness
  • Support primary AP Specialist with specific assigned duties
  • Cross train with AP & AR to serve as backup for other team members
  • Create or maintain SOPs for General Accounting duties
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies
  • Maintain assigned monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support the financial close process
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Seek opportunities for improvement to support the company's LEAN initiative
  • Ad-hoc reporting as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed

Qualifications, Desired Knowledge & Skills
  • 4-Year Accounting Degree or a minimum of 2-years' industry accounting experience with an associate's degree in accounting required
  • 2 years of Accounting experience preferred
  • Proven technical accounting background with high accuracy
  • Proficient in Excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookup, etc.) and NetSuite or other ERP system
  • Multi-task and prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes
  • Work effectively with frequent interruptions in a team environment as a team player
  • Maintain appropriate level of confidentiality
  • Handle stressful situations with grace
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates positive behaviors and works well with others
  • Work with a wide range of individuals from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds

Travel Requirements

Travel is occasionally required, but when required you must use your own personal form of transportation to and from meetings.
