PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Performs duties and responsibilities with integrity and in a professional, fair, open-minded, ethical, and timely manner.
- Performs prompt recording of the accounts receivable and postings to and closing the related general ledgers monthly.
- Posts, verifies, and reconciles accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, payroll, and/or other ledger accounts.
- Performs posting of cash receipts, expenses, or other transactions to journals or ledgers and verifies accuracy.
- Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
- Reviews and posts monthly journal entries, cash receipts, and revenue.
- Coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audits.
- Assists with merger and acquisition activities as needed.
- Assist on closing other general ledgers in preparation for the monthly, quarterly, and year-end consolidation schedules.
- Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects while maintaining required schedules.
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Knowledge of general ledger and is familiar with financial statement consolidation.
- Demonstrated ability in general accounting, financial government accounting and audit principles, procedures, and techniques.
- Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications.
- Professional intrapersonal and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; with an emphasis on Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards.
- Thorough understanding of methods of systems analysis and the principles, design, and procedural methods used in computer and database development.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five (5) years of professional accounting experience.
- Working with Cost Point and Sage Intacct.
- Working in government contracting and construction EAC's analysis.
- Working with Alaska Native Corporations (ANC's).
