Valley Pacific Petroleum Services, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team at the Stockton location. This role is integral to ensuring accurate and complete data entry related to product deliveries, inventories, and invoicing. Reporting to the Office Manager, the Accounting Specialist will collaborate closely with the billing, accounts receivable (AR), and accounts payable (AP) teams.
Key Responsibilities:
•Accurately record and apply incoming customer payments, including checks, ACH transfers,
credit card payments, ensuring timely posting to the appropriate accounts.
•Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes for accounts receivable.
•Maintain well-organized records of customer payments, including documentation for audit
purposes.
•Execute assigned billing department processes in a timely and accurate manner.
•Demonstrate proficiency in cash management and billing department processes.
•Regularly review and verify the accuracy of customer PDI files.
•Identify and address inconsistencies or inaccuracies in billing documentation.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
•Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and team building skills.
•Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
•High attention to detail with excellent communication skills.
•Proficient in collaborating with customers, vendors, sales team, and the accounting department.
