Position Summary

The Accounting Clerk regularly compiles, reviews, prepares, reconciles and analyzes accounting records and financial reports.

Essential Functions of the Position

  • Monitors, reviews and verifies accounting records and transactions for accuracy, timeliness and adequacy of supporting documentation.
  • Reviews and analyzes reports for accuracy prior to distribution.
  • Clarifies or research issues as necessary.
  • Provides input for the development of accounting applications, reports, forms, records and documented procedures.
  • Prepares invoice deduction notices as necessary.
  • Answers vendor inquiries.
  • Research current accounts, previous balances, source documents and related materials to develop specified information not readily available from current reports

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • No direct supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: associate degree preferred but not required
  • Experience using Excel.   
  • Experience: 2-5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
