Summary Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Accounting Technician. You can make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment. Duty Location: Lower Colorado Basin, Yuma Area Office, Management Services Office located in Yuma, AZ. Full time telework and remote work not available; housing not provided. Responsibilities Reviews various accounting documents to verify accounting data and necessary entries. Prepares the required forms (such as standard vouchers) to enter data into the Financial and Business Management System (FBMS). Prepares monthly reports for programmers on reimbursable activities. Using cost reports, verifies balances of advances, revenues and expenses incurred monthly. Prepares monthly/quarterly standard voucher documents and ensures include appropriate supporting documentation for various items such as warehouse, GSA vehicles, fuel, K37 monthly billing and other items as assigned. Performs as charge card coordinator a review of all purchases, services charges on MasterCard statements to ensure they are in compliance with the checklist that is provided by the regional office and in accordance with the Purchase Business Line Requirements Handbook (PURLBOOK). Enters charge card statements into FBMS system for cost allocation purposes. Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. Who May Apply: Bureau of Reclamation Employees (Competitive) Bureau of Reclamation Employees (Non-Competitive) Career Transition Assistance Plan (CTAP) Qualifications GS-07: In order to qualify for the GS-07 grade level, your resume must reflect one year of full time experience equivalent in complexity and difficulty to at least the GS-06 level in the Federal service applying accounting principles, methods, procedures, and techniques to maintain and analyze accounts in a diversified accounting system; and preparing accounting information and recording it into an automated accounting system. In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-In-Grade: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including time-in-grade restrictions and any selective placement factors if applicable, by 12/20/2024. Education This position does not allow substituting education for experience. Additional Information You may be required to serve an initial probationary period. Reclamation has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and you may be allowed to telework with supervisory approval.
