My client is seeking to add to their team and they are looking for a strong leader! Must have Bachelors degree in Accounting and must have experience leading a Accounting team, 2-3+ years

**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Financial Reporting:**
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and statutory accounting principles specific to the insurance industry.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to support financial statement audits and regulatory examinations.
2. **Regulatory Compliance:**
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including state insurance departments, NAIC (National Association of Insurance Commissioners), and other relevant bodies.
- Prepare and submit regulatory filings, including quarterly and annual statements, premium tax filings, and other required reports.
- Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.
3. **General Ledger and Account Reconciliation:**
- Manage the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Oversee account reconciliation processes, including premium accounts, claims reserves, and reinsurance recoverables.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
4. **Internal Controls and Risk Management:**
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
- Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular reviews of accounting processes and controls to identify areas for improvement.
5. **Financial Analysis and Reporting:**
- Analyze financial results to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction and performance improvement.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support management decision-making.
- Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, and claims teams to provide financial analysis related to loss reserves, premium income, and other key metrics.
6. **Reinsurance Accounting:**
- Oversee reinsurance accounting processes, including treaty accounting, reinsurance recoverable management, and reconciliation.
- Ensure proper recording and reporting of reinsurance transactions in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
7. **Team Leadership and Development:**
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Will lead a team between (4-7)
- Provide training and guidance on accounting principles, insurance regulations, and internal controls.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to support professional growth.
