REPORTS TO: VP of Finance & Administration
SUMMARY:
The Accounting Clerk will assist the company with many of its administrative and clerical duties; specifically receiving payments for goods and services offered to members and assists with clerical processing of payables.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
· Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers.
· Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.
· Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment.
· Creates reports regarding the status of customer accounts as requested.
· Researches customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the VP of Finance & Administration and other staff.
Collaborates with the VP of Finance & Administration to reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable on a periodic (at least monthly) basis.
· Assists in generating monthly billing statements based on the general ledger.
· Assists in reconciling accounts each month.
· Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts as needed.
· Creates registration and/or payment entries/forms. Coordinates information with marketing department.
· Relays changes of information to appropriate employees.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
· Proficient in standard office software.
· At least two years of related experience required.
· Excellent communication, verbal and written, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
· Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

· Must possess initiative, decision-making skills and the judgment necessary to determine action or approach for assignments, and projects.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Experience with QuickBooks software.
· Display ethical behavior when dealing with sensitive financial information.
· Demonstrate ability to navigate high-stress situations with a positive attitude and approach.
