About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Home Health Unit Secretary to join our team in the Health Care Services industry. In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our home health unit, ensuring that all patient records are accurately filed, maintained and uploaded to Kinnser.. You will also be responsible for managing phone calls, prepares admission packets, and provides clerical support to HH Department. Your attention to detail and ability to multitask will be critical to the success of our team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience in a healthcare administrative support role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) software
  • Bilingual in English, Vietnamese and/ or Spanish

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  • Maintain patient registers and logs: weekly/monthly census, MR# log,fax log, physician order log, patient statistics log, etc.
  • Enters data and maintains home health excel databases.
  • Faxes, and files doctor's orders.
  • Prepares admission packets by printing required forms.
  • Maintains patient charts and records by filing admission packets, Plan of Care, doctor's orders, OASIS, etc.
  • Contacts doctor;s offices for follow up documentation and facilitates ccommunication.
  • Provides back up to Customer Service Representative/Receptionist. , when required.
  • Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate healthcare professional
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and effective patient care
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies and order as needed
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed
  • Participates in communty activities and represents the company as necessary.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned by Supervising Nurse and/or Alternate Administrator.

Skills:

As a Home Health Unit Secretary, you will utilize your strong organizational and multitasking skills to ensure that patient records are accurately maintained and appointments are scheduled in a timely manner. Your attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals will be critical to the success of our team. Additionally, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with EMR software will allow you to efficiently manage patient records and provide the highest level of patient care.
