Are you an experienced legal assistant who thrives in a fast-paced law office environment? You might be just what we're looking for as our next personal injury legal assistant. We need someone to assist clients when our attorneys and paralegals are busy. You'll be in charge of managing office correspondence, including answering phone calls and emails, scheduling meetings and travel, and informing our legal team of upcoming deadlines.


You'll also order medical and billing records and submit paperwork electronically in state and federal courts. Additional legal research will be performed when requested by attorneys and paralegals. If you take pride in consistently delivering high-quality work, contact us today!

Compensation:

$42,500+ based on experience

Responsibilities:
  • Perform legal research, as needed, with help from attorneys and paralegals, and have an understanding of medical terminology
  • Ordering medical and billing records and electronically filing in state and federal courts
  • Answer phones, communicate with opposing attorney offices, take dictation, respond to emails, and remind the team of deadlines
  • Consult with expert witnesses, clients, medical professionals, and vendors
  • Process client billing appropriately using daily time records, with the accounting department's assistance
  • Assist the new client intake team in screening incoming leads, evaluating, and signing new potential clients.
  • Work closely with the firm’s case managers and intake manager in a team environment and ensure all procedures are completed and clients are fully advised.
  • Data entry into Filevine, client management software.
  • Manage new clients, setting them up for medical treatment, and following up on medical care.
  • Set up claims with insurance companies and establish coverage and liability.
  • Send out letters of representation.
  • Request medical and billing records with affidavits.
  • Prepare and maintain client files in SharePoint.
  • Fill out appropriate forms for PIP, Medicare, Medicaid, and Lost wages.
Qualifications:
  • Proficient with MS Office products
  • An Associate’s degree or some college is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • 1-2 years of prior experience in a personal injury law firm as a secretary or administrative assistant
  • Able to meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Candidates should have strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task                           
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment and establish good working relationships
  • Filevine and Lead Docket knowledge is a plus
