The City of Kettering Administrative Systems Department is seeking a dedicated and skilled Cybersecurity Analyst to join our Information Systems team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about cybersecurity to play a key role in protecting and enhancing the City’s technology infrastructure.
Position Overview:
Under the general supervision of the Information Systems Manager, the Cybersecurity Analyst serves as the subject matter expert for cybersecurity-related matters. This position is responsible for conducting risk, vulnerability, and compliance assessments at the network, system, and application levels, ensuring the City’s systems meet established security standards and remain protected against evolving cyber threats. This is an onsite position, requiring regular and predictable attendance at our City facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform risk assessments and implement security measures to address vulnerabilities.
Monitor and evaluate systems and networks for compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., CJIS, PCI-DSS, HIPAA).
Research and deploy advanced threat detection tools and processes to mitigate cyber risks.
Manage Endpoint Detection and Response tools, secure device configurations, and maintain asset inventories.
Assist in security audits, risk assessments, and incident response exercises.
Stay current with emerging cyber threats, tools, and industry standards.
Provide occasional support or perform scheduled tasks outside regular business hours.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
Minimum of two years of experience in cybersecurity or a closely related field.
Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., CIS Controls, NIST), threat detection methods, vulnerability assessment tools, and incident response strategies.
Familiarity with CJIS/LEADS security requirements is preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with excellent verbal and written communication.
