Position: Cybersecurity Engineer
Department: Penetration Testing / Vulnerability Assessment
Work Location: Irvine, CA (Onsite)
Overview:
A global cybersecurity solutions provider is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to join the team and contribute to the mission of safeguarding digital assets by protecting organizations from emerging threats.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not are limited to:
Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing:
• Conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments and penetration tests on various targets, including networks and web applications.
• Prepare and gather necessary information for assessments, coordinate with customers and outsourcers, and schedule testing activities.
• Utilize vulnerability scanners and penetration testing tools effectively.
• Review and analyze assessment reports generated by other engineers.
Process and Procedure Maintenance:
• Maintain and improve vulnerability assessment and penetration testing procedures and processes.
• Validate static code analysis and software composition analysis results.
• Communicate findings with developers to facilitate issue resolution.
Cybersecurity Consulting:
• Provide technical consulting services to customers on cybersecurity matters.
• Respond to inquiries about service capabilities, define project scopes, and develop proposals.
• Create and enhance sales materials for cybersecurity services.
• Deliver presentations to customers and prospective clients, tailoring the scope of work and methodologies as needed.
• Collaborate with other security engineers to define statements of work and proposals.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, cybersecurity, or a related field; or a combination of related experience and education.
• 2+ years of experience working in cybersecurity.
• Knowledge of security vulnerabilities and principles associated with common web technologies (e.g., OWASP Top 10).
• Proven experience with security assessment tools and vulnerability scanners (Nmap, Burp Suite, etc.).
• Coding experience in at least one of the programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, C#, JavaScript, PowerShell, etc.
• Relevant certifications (GIAC, OSCP, CISSP) not required but plus.
The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
