Position Overview
We are seeking a talented Cybersecurity Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of secure systems for the Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution (FORGE) Enterprise OPIR Solution (EOS) contract. This role involves implementing security measures, identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities, and ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards. The Cybersecurity Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to safeguard mission-critical operations.
Please note: This position is contingent upon successful capture of the FORGE EOS contract.
Primary Responsibilities
- System Security Implementation:
- Develop and implement cybersecurity measures to protect the FORGE Framework (FF) from cyber threats
- Integrate security controls into hardware, software, and network components to meet mission and compliance requirements
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and remediation efforts
- Compliance and Accreditation Support:
- Ensure system compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards, including RMF, DISA STIGs, and NIST 800-53
- Assist in preparing and maintaining System Security Plans (SSPs), Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and other accreditation documentation
- Support the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process to obtain and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO)
- Threat Mitigation and Monitoring:
- Perform risk assessments and threat modeling to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies
- Monitor system performance and security logs to detect and respond to threats and anomalies
- Collaboration and Integration:
- Work closely with systems engineering, software development, and test teams to integrate cybersecurity solutions into all phases of the system lifecycle
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define security requirements and ensure alignment with program objectives
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of cybersecurity measures, vulnerabilities, and corrective actions
- Provide status updates to program management and customer stakeholders on cybersecurity efforts
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in cybersecurity roles, preferably within DoD or aerospace environments
- Familiarity with DoD standards, including RMF, DISA STIGs, and NIST 800-53
- Proficiency in cybersecurity tools, such as Nessus, Splunk, Fortify, or similar
- Strong knowledge of network security, secure software development practices, and vulnerability management
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CEH, or CSSLP
- Experience with satellite ground systems cybersecurity
- Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps methodologies
- Experience in the Overhead Persistent Infra-Red (OPIR) mission area
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline; equivalent experience will be considered.
Clearance Requirement
Active DoD Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
