The Corporate Information Services Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Manager - Information Services Cybersecurity Engineering.
The Manager - IS Cybersecurity Engineering is responsible for leading a team of security professionals to design, build, and maintain the security infrastructure that safeguards the organization's digital assets, systems, and networks. This role requires a strategic thinker who can align security efforts with business goals while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and secure solutions across the enterprise. Participates in the oversight of the establishment, implementation and adherence to policies and standards that guide and support the terms of the information security strategy.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Leads the development and implementation of automated preventative, detective and remediation security measures to protect against emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
- Drives the design and implementation of security architectures that are scalable, resilient, and aligned with business objectives.
- Provides management of the implementation and ongoing support of corporate owned information security applications and security controls.
- Deconstructs complex security processes and solutions to identify relevant risk areas, potential control points, and provide sound recommendations for risk treatment.
- Partners with key stakeholders to drive implementation of security-related technical and process controls to remediate risks identified during engagement.
- Leads, mentors, and manages a team of security professionals, ensuring their professional growth and development while fostering a culture of innovation and operational excellence.
- Exercises responsibility for supervision, performance evaluations and direction of team. Coordinates work assignments given in order to meet deadlines and ensure continued progress toward assignment completion.
- Tracks and reports security engineering metrics. Defines standard processes for the design, implementation, maintenance, and reporting of security engineering, driving continuous improvement, and proactively managing critical incidents and problems.
- Identifies current and emerging threats to our systems and environment to prevent incidents where possible and actively manage them as necessary.
- Works closely with CISO and other senior level personnel to further enhance and develop their leadership skills.
- Makes ongoing well-researched security enhancement suggestions to management based on evolving trends.
- Continually evaluates the security posture of UHS environments against internal policy, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Security and Risk Management, Computer Science, or related field required.
- 5+ years of experience in security engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role. Healthcare industry experience, preferred.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing security solutions in large-scale, complex environments.
- Hands-on experience with security technologies (e.g., firewalls, SIEMs, IDS/IPS, DLP, CASB, IAM, endpoint protection).
- Strong knowledge of privacy and security regulations, including GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI.
- Knowledge of secure baseline configurations as well as how to implement and monitor.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Experienced in implementing and managing CASB solutions.
- Proficient in DLP concepts and methodologies to safeguard sensitive information.
- Ability to collaborate with individuals at all organizational levels, skills, and experiences to build relationships and achieve organizational goals.
- Currently holds one or more specialized Security Certifications, required
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple and sometimes competing projects, priorities, or objectives.
- Strong technical analytical skills, project management certification and/or experience, process improvement related to workflow processes, training, development of educational material.
- Able to communicate clearly and respectfully with Executives, and all other personnel.
- Learns quickly, takes constructive feedback on performance, stays focused on the job with attention to detail and produces desired outcomes.
Travel Requirements: Up to 10% domestic US travel (depending on projects).
