Cybersecurity Intern, Security Operations

Job Description Summary: We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Cybersecurity Intern to join our Cyber Fusion Center (CFC) team. The intern will assist in threat hunting, incident response (IR), and other cybersecurity activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in the field of cybersecurity.

Job Title: SoC, Threat Hunting, and IR Cybersecurity Intern

Location: Franklin Lakes, New Jersey

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in monitoring and analyzing security events and incidents.
  2. Participate in threat hunting activities to identify potential security threats.
  3. Support incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, and remediation.
  4. Conduct research on emerging cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
  5. Assist in the development and implementation of security operations policies and procedures.
  6. Collaborate with other team members to improve security posture and incident response capabilities.

Qualifications:

  1. Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  2. Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
  3. Familiarity with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
  2. Knowledge of network protocols and security architectures.
  3. Previous internship or project experience in cybersecurity.
