This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2-3 days per week from an HPE office.

Job Description:
The Associate General Counsel, Cybersecurity and IT, reports to the Vice President & Deputy General Counsel, Operations, Global Functions & Antitrust and is directly responsible for providing legal support to HPE’s Cyber Defense & Risk Management (CDRM) and Global Information Technology (IT) organizations. The attorney in this role plays a critical part in mitigating cybersecurity risk for HPE and ensuring that the Company is compliant with government regulations, industry standards, and best practices relating to the security and resilience of its IT networks.
Responsibilities:
- Acts as the primary legal advisor and a trusted partner to HPE’s CDRM and IT organizations, providing seamless and best-in-class legal guidance.
- Works closely with the Vice President & Deputy General Counsel, Operations, Global Functions & Antitrust, other members of the Legal Department and stakeholders across HPE to ensure that cybersecurity- and IT-related risks are properly governed and mitigated.
- Collaborates to develop and drive programs aimed at protecting HPE’s IT networks and complying with government regulations.
- Serves as a core member of HPE’s cyber crisis management team and Cyber Governance and Incident Disclosure Committee.
- Stays current and knowledgeable in all areas of information technology and cybersecurity risk.
- Provides thought leadership and serves as a role model of HPE’s values.
Education and Experience Required:
- Juris doctorate from an accredited law school or international equivalent.
- At least one active law license and in compliance with all requirements for the same, with no disciplinary history, and in good standing in all jurisdictions where admitted.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a practicing in-house, government and/or law firm attorney with experience in cybersecurity and technology law.
- Experience supporting compliance risk assessments of cybersecurity and IT systems; developing and implementing security measures, policies and procedures in compliance with applicable laws and regulations; and conducting investigations of cybersecurity incidents.
- Experience with crisis management and incidents involving risk to people, assets and/or brand/reputation.
- Experience analyzing and advising on complex legal matters and implementing solutions with urgency and attention to detail.
- Experience engaging with, and presenting to, senior executives or leaders. Able to translate and convey key technical concepts to broader, non-technical audiences.
- Consistently maintains the highest ethical standards and demonstrates integrity, respect, fortitude, poise and credibility when dealing with difficult situations.
- Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication, presentation, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Able to travel to other locations or HPE sites as/when needed (estimated less than 10% of the time).
Impact/Scope:
- Scope includes managing the overall risk for an entire large global or regional business or leading complex commercial transactions.
- Impact includes providing specialized legal expertise in one or more areas of strategic importance to the company.
Complexity:
- Appropriate Review Board approval is required – Business Unit and Corporate Review Board.

The expected salary /wage range for a U.S.-based hire filling this position is provided below. Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level.
USD Annual Salary: $155,500.00 - $376,000.00
