Resident Services Coordinator

The Resident Service Coordination at Barkan Management Company is to assist residents in attaining successful occupancy in their community. The general role is to identify residents’ needs and provide linkage and assistance with securing those services and benefits to enhance the quality of life. Additionally, it is to help maintain and prolong the residents’ ability to live independently while improving both self-esteem and self-determination. The Resident Service Coordinator will.
- Routinely evaluate resident needs via a needs assessment survey.
- Make referrals to the appropriate service agencies that will meet the services needs and desires of residents.
- Provide residents with information upon request re: available services/benefits.
- To develop and facilitate social programs and activities to encourage resident self-sufficiency, independence, and good health.
- Support resident social and educational initiatives.
- Act as a resident advocate when appropriate.
- Work with residents to resolve individual and group conflicts.
- Promote positive communication between residents and management.
Referrals can be received from a resident, property manager, assistant manager, maintenance technician, neighbor, family member, friend, or other service agency. The Resident Service Coordinator will act upon the referral within a reasonable amount of time. Based on circumstances, the contact may be made by phone, by mail, or in person. In the case of an emergency or crisis, if the Resident Services Coordinator is available and intervention or assistance is deemed appropriate, he/she will act accordingly.
In addition to the core duties, the Resident Service Coordinator will:
- Maintain professional appearance
- Some travel may be required.
- Conduct all business in accordance with BMC policies and procedures, fair housing, Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and all other federal and state laws.
Minimum requirements.
- College degree or equivalent education and/or life experience.
- Studies in the areas of Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Clinical Case Work
- LICSW highly recommended
- Russian/English speaking preferred.
- Other licenses and/or certifications as required by state law.
